The Main Story behind the Trend:
The world is in motion. We are ready for a new life style with new energy. The evolution comes from a synthetic artificiality into our every day environment. The bright tones give us a sense of reassurance and hope. We are living in a kaleidoscope of color and light materials that are combined to stimulate light. The light makes us happy and the feeling is contagious.
We are ready to spend money on this experience of light and color. Life becomes a lab and we are all mad scientists.
We are all socially connected; which is our new play garden and tree house of today. There is no room for conventional ways. Reject the old way by speaking out with your voice.
We are ready to shake it up: pushing the boundaries of previously respected norms, challenging authority figures, and experimenting with new ways of being. Ethics and integrity stand front and forward for what we believe in. “Do the right thing” is our motto.
The Inspiration:
The doom and gloom of our shared financial crisis, conflicted governments and uncertain futures has driven our cry for change. Revitalizing geographical areas with color and light. We are moving back into urban areas.
Our desire to change and rebuild is expressed in pop culture through 70’s-80’s graffiti and black and white art. We are experiencing Resource fullness: Waist nothing, throw nothing away. Function, chromatic, repair and make new again. Creative recycling. Re-assemble for a new use.
Color is presented with a new intensity. This intensity is transparent, has movement, and communicates. The brightness lends itself towards a contemporary feel. It is the combination of graphic patterns of diagonal stripes or pixel optics on glossy surfaces. Photo realistic prints take the center stage.
Now we know why the colors of the current running shoes and apparel are what they are!!!!
